海水透明度盘方法often used to study the浊度of water bodies. The materials needed include a secchi disc, rope, and meter rod. You can also make your own secchi disc by painting a circular disc in black and white quarters.

Method:
1. Make sure your rope is tied to the center of one of the flat and painted sides of the disc.
2. Lower the secchi disc into the water with the rope until the black and white sections become invisible.
3. Mark the rope at the water’s edge.
4. Pull up the disc until the black and white sections return to sight and mark that spot on the rope again.
5. Measure the length of the rope from the end attached to the secchi disc to the two marks and average those two values.
6. Repeat this procedure in three different areas of the water body you are testing.
