Announcing the Holiday Match
In the spirit of the holidays, we’d like to provide additional support to the high school science teachers who are hoping to bring Labster science simulations to their classes this year. That’s why we’re announcing a dollar-for-dollar funding match for US public high schools and charter high schools.
Here's our inspiration:
Mr. Allen Dale teaches biology and ornithology at Kuna High School in Kuna, ID. When the pandemic prevented teaching face-to-face lab courses, Mr. Allen Dale knew he needed virtual labs so his students could continue their active learning. To pay for Labster, Mr. Dale decided to try something new:fundraising via the DonorsChoose platform. With support from the Kuna community and a corporate donor, his innovative project was fully funded. His creativity and commitment to student success inspired us to create our own Holiday Match.
Here’s how it works:
From December 14th 9:00 AM EST until February 14th 11:59 PM EST, all DonorsChoose projects seeking to fund Labster will receive a 1:1 match from Labster. That means a $100 donation from a parent or friend of the school will become a $200 donation, a $300 donation will become a $600 donation, and so on. Labster will contribute up to a total value of $10,000.
Here’s how to qualify:
Any high school teacher with an active project on DonorsChoose that seeks to fund Labster is eligible to receive matching funds from Labster. If you already have a live, approved project on DonorsChoose, you’re all set!
If you don’t yet have a DonorsChoose project, it’s easy to set one up:https://secure.donorschoose.org/teacher/teacher_registration.html
