In this simulation, you will learn what are the steps to follow in order to dissolve a solid and recrystallize it to eliminate impurities. You will learn why it is important to choose the right solvent and which are the best ways to recrystallize your solid.

Analyze your solid, decide on the right solvent to use, and carry out the entire process — from dissolving your solid when the solvent is boiling hot, to cooling it down gradually by using an ice bath.

Recrystallization is a process that takes time since we need to wait long periods for our solvent to heat up, our mixture to cool, and our crystals to form. Thanks to this virtual simulation, we can offer this experience in a much shorter time frame, minimizing the waiting times!
